How come Air Berlin fly to Dresden from Manchester and not from London? This year we flew to Frankfurt and transferred to an internal flight to Dresden – missed the connection due to delays but Lufthansa were very helpful and we were put on the next flight a couple of hours later. The changes every year are frustrating though. This Southend venture sounds interesting if a little wierd – thanks for the info about it.

If you haven’t already, someone should do a piece on Germany’s marvellous open air pools. We have been to a couple and they are wonderful, often in lovely surroundings, good value and you can buy food and drink and relax.
