Ahh, a lovely article about my home town. Vielen Dank!

I occasionally miss Heidelberg, even though Edinburgh, where I currently live, also has a historic old town and a castle on top of a hill (although in my humble opinion slightly less romantic than Heidelberg's old ruin).

Approaching by train is perhaps not the nicest way to get there, I agree, though likely the quickest. But instead, a gentle drive along the Neckar valley from the south, or taking the scenic route along the Bergstrasse region and the Odenwald from the north and east would be well worth it.
