Meet the Wundermeisters!
GermanyisWunderbar is the distillation of the expertise of two well-known enthusiasts for travel in Germany, one British, and one German. The former a long-established writer, and the latter a communication consultant and freelance journalist.
Andrew Eames
Andrew Eames is a travel writer and author with a particular penchant for things German, having married a lass from Lower Saxony.
Over the years he has written about Germany for a range of UK newspapers, including the Times, the Telegraph, the Daily Express, the Evening Standard and the Independent. He was recently ranked sixth in the UK Press Gazette list of the top 50 travel writers in the UK.
His latest book, Blue River Black Sea, out now in paperback, traces the course of the Danube from its source in the Black Forest. For more detail, see his own website.

Barbara Geier
Barbara Geier is German and therefore efficient, organised and always on time.

Originally from Schifferstadt, near Speyer in the Rhineland Palatinate, she studied English Language and Literature and Communication Studies in Mainz and Swansea and completed a Media MBA programme in Berlin. London- Round the world trip- Germany- London and working in editorial and corporate communication positions have been her stops on the way since university. While working for the German National Tourist Office in London and promoting Germany as a travel destination she rediscovered the beauty of her Heimat and has since been on a mission to let the great British public know that Germany is more than just the Oktoberfest and Berlin.
She’s now working freelance as a communication consultant and writer (BConnects. Barbara Geier Communication Services), with a special focus on online and social media.
Her favourite thing about Germany? “There’s always a great bakery round the next corner and it’s a good place to come home to.”
