This fairly typical farmhouse is at the heart of the Black Forest wine-growing region, and has its own vintage. More importantly, it offers fairly unique accommodation in converted giant oak casks, set in pairs in strategic locations with a view out over the vineyards. Don’t expect luxury, and pray for reasonable weather. This is not much above camping, but for the right kind of people, it’s just the right kind of adventure.
